Legal requirements
Whether you are getting married in one of our beautiful venues or having a religious ceremony in a church there is paperwork that you need to complete in advance of the big day.
Marriage notice forms must be completed within the three months before the wedding and submitted to the relevant registration office at least 28 clear days before the wedding. The same timescales apply for civil partnerships. For more information please refer to the documents as provided by National Records of Scotland.

A renewal of vows ceremony is a renewal of the vows/ promises you made when you were first joined in marriage/ partnership. It can be a meaningful and touching ceremony for you and your children, family and friends.
As a couple, it is a time to pause and reflect on where you have been and where you are going. It is also a wonderful example to set for your children and grandchildren.
Renewal of vows ceremonies can be as creative and personal as you want them to be. Walk down the aisle to classical music and walk out to "your song".
Your ceremony can be very formal, or more casual depending on your preference. It can completely reflect who you are.
There is a fee to pay for notifying the marriage. The cost is £30 each for the bride and groom, and the marriage certificate costs £10. If you are being married by a registrar, a solemnisation fee of £55 will also be charged.
Similar fees apply for notifying a civil partnership and for the registration of the partnership. Information on fees is contained in these information leaflets -
There will also be additional fees for the services of a registrar to conduct your marriage or civil partnership ceremony.
In cases of religious weddings, please ask the religious celebrant for information about any applicable charges.
Why not celebrate your civil partnership with a commitment ceremony declaring your life-long commitment to one another?
