Paul Manning was appointed Chief Executive of South Lanarkshire Council in October 2023 and is the head of the council's paid workforce and the most senior adviser to the Council Leader and council members. 

Paul was previously the Executive Director (Finance and Corporate Resources) and Depute Chief Executive at South Lanarkshire and has worked at South Lanarkshire Council since its inception in 1996.  He qualified as a Chartered Public Finance Accountant in 1997 and previously worked for Hamilton District Council.
