Improvement works at roundabout
Published: Thursday 27 February 2025

Essential resurfacing works are to take place at a roundabout in Clydesdale.
The A706/A721 Harelaw Roundabout, close to the village of Carstairs, will be closed between the A721 Carluke to Carnwath and the A706 Lanark to Forth road from 8am on Monday 3 March.
Weather and resources permitting, the closure is expected to last for five days.
A diversion will be in place via: (North) A706, A71, A73, A721 and vice-versa. (West) A721, A73, A706 and vice-versa. (South) A721, A70, A743, A73, A706 and vice-versa.
Head of Roads, Fleet and Transportation Services, Colin Park, said: “We apologise in advance for any inconvenience these essential road works may cause.
“We would ask all road users to avoid the area if possible, and if they cannot, then to take note of the diversion routes in place and leave extra time for their journey.
“We hope all road users will appreciate the improvements when the works are complete.”
