Design is underway for the new Larkhall Leisure Centre

The contractor for the new £23.9million Larkhall Leisure Centre has now been appointed.
Following a robust procurement process, hub South West Scotland Limited in conjunction with South Lanarkshire Council have appointed BAM Construction as the Tier 1 Contractor.
Alison Brown, the council’s head of Enterprise and Sustainable Development, said: “As previously reported, the council had secured this funding to construct the new leisure facility.
“I am now delighted to be able to say that following the appointment of BAM Construction, enabling work is now scheduled to get underway in spring 2025 with the main construction work commencing in late 2025 and completing in 2027.
“Now that the project team has been formally appointed, they will be looking at opportunities to maximise the space within the available budget, which will be subject to engagement with the local community in the coming months.”
BAM will be supported by Holmes Miller Architects, Blyth and Blyth consulting engineers, and Wallace Whittle environmental building services.
The project team have an excellent track record with BAM and will be striving towards Passivhaus standards to meet energy efficiencies which will provide significant carbon and revenue savings for the new Larkhall Leisure Centre.
