Stationery plea answered by wish list

A Larkhall charity have had their appeal for stationery answered – thanks to the Community Wish List.
The Machan Trust needed the stationery for pupils who attend their daily after school study group at Larkhall Academy, and to provide primary school children with back-to-school packs.
The wish was granted by ESPO, who provided £500 of stationery and office supplies.
Chief Executive Officer of the Machan Trust, Fiona Dryburgh, said: ‘’The Machan Trust is very grateful to ESPO.
“This vital donation will help us to continue to deliver essential services within the local community.
“The rising cost of living and reduction of funding has majorly impacted the Third Sector.
“We are delighted that South Lanarkshire Council has introduced this Wish List and that our wish was granted.”
Head of Sales at ESPO, Simon Herne, said: “Through the South Lanarkshire Community Wish List initiative ESPO is delighted to have been able to play a small part in helping support the Machan Trust with a donation of stationery products to help enable the charity to carry out the hugely valuable work that they do, supporting children, young people and families in the local community.
“The charity works with schools across the area, many of which are also customers of ESPO, and so it is a fantastic opportunity for us to be able to give something back through this initiative.”
The Community Wish List is supported by South Lanarkshire Council’s Community Engagement Team.
Chair of the council's Finance and Corporate Resources Committee, Councillor Lesley McDonald, said: "This is another great example of the Community Wish List and the benefits it can bring to local communities and organisations.
"I would like to thank all the companies who have so generously donated so far."
