A youth club in Cambuslang has received £3,000 to continue delivering a range of activities to local young people.
Circuit Youth Club, operated entirely by volunteers, was awarded the money following a Participatory Budgeting (PB) exercise, which gives local people a direct say in how public money is spent.
The funding will provide a comprehensive programme of activities based on the needs of the young people, including specialised activities.
The club have previously provided experiences such as trips, forest school education, baking and cooking skills and fitness classes.
Natalie Kirk from the Circuit Youth Club said: “We are so pleased to receive the funding which will allow us to extensively support our young people and tackle anti-social behaviour by creating a programme of activities designed to engage the young people.”
Council Leader and Chair of the Community Planning Partnership, Joe Fagan, said: “The number of events and the work put into organising them by Circuit Youth Club are really quite amazing.
“The way that past events have bought the community together has helped to transform the area as a whole, and in using this funding to allow even more people to enjoy future events, the local people can’t fail to reap the benefits.
“Well done to everyone involved at Circuit Youth Club and I look forward to hearing how much fun is enjoyed by everyone at all the events they have now got planned.”
