Wish List helps after-school craft club

A donation of multiple tins of varnish is helping young people hone their crafting skills.
Calderglen High School Parent Council run an after-school craft club, offering school pupils and their parents the opportunity to meet socially with others in a safe and welcoming environment, offering friendship, connection and a sense of purpose.
The group made an appeal to the Community Wish List for tins of varnish to help finish off the projects they were working on, and Bell Group fulfilled the request by donating four 2.5 litre tins.
Ian Bell from the Parent Council said: “The varnish will allow the extra curriculum craft club to apply a quality finish on to their projects and help properly teach its advantages and develop their finishing skills.
“It will also be used for our P7 West Mains bird feeder project and allow them to achieve their RSPCB award.
“We believe it will also provide a stronger link with the department and the primary school.”
A spokesperson for Bell Group said: "It’s always a pleasure to be able to support the communities that Bell Group are working with.”
The Community Wish List is supported by South Lanarkshire Council’s Community Engagement Team.
Chair of the council's Finance and Corporate Resources Committee, Councillor Lesley McDonald, said: "This is another great example of the Community Wish List and the benefits it can bring to local communities and organisations.
"I would like to thank all the companies who have so generously donated so far."
