St Louise Primary School has been given a very good report from Education Scotland following a visit by a team of HMIe inspector
The report rated St Louise Primary School as very good at learning, teaching and assessment and also raising attainment and achievement.
Inspectors also highlighted the warm inclusive culture of learning throughout the school where “children are happy, confident and very keen to do their best in all aspects of school life”.
And the school was also recognised for its high-quality learning and teaching with staff working very effectively as a team to “provide creative and exciting learning, which motivates and engages children” whilst also showing good progress in children’s learning, including those who may require additional support.
Siobhan Mooty, head teacher at the East Kilbride primary school, said: "I am incredibly proud of all staff, families and pupils of St Louise Primary who make our school a place where everyone feels welcome, included and a positive environment in which to learn.
“We are delighted that inspectors from Education Scotland were able to experience this positive and welcoming atmosphere during their visit and identified many strengths within our school that support our priority to provide high quality teaching and learning for our young people.
“We will continue to work closely with our families and Parent Council to maintain these high standards in order to continue flourishing in our school community."

The report also recommended that teaching staff continue to provide pupils with more learning opportunities in literacy and numeracy. And staff should also build on existing good practices relating to how children are making progress across all areas of the curriculum.
Carole McKenzie, the council’s Executive Director of Education, said: “Congratulations to Siobhan Mooty and her teaching staff for all their hard work and dedication to create such a welcoming and rewarding place for their pupils to learn.
“Thanks must also go to all St Louise’ staff, parents and families for their support which is clearly reflected in this very good HMIe report.”
