Big Vern 'n' the Shootahs bring the party to Lanark
Published: Friday 19 April 2024

One of the country's best-known party bands will take to the stage at Lanark Memorial Hall next month.
Big Vern 'n' the Shootahs return to South Lanarkshire on Friday 3 May bringing with them 'funky vibes' and the kind of spectacular show that has kept South Lanarkshire audiences coming back year after year.
The nine-piece collective includes some of the best rhythm players in the business, along with a renowned horn section, and a new frontman with a voice guaranteed to raise the roof.
Created back in 1989, the band originally came together to raise money for Glasgow's Southern General Hospital which had cared for a mutual friend in his final few weeks, following a sudden illness.
Basing their set on a mutual love of the Blues Brothers the band went down so well at that first charity gig that the rest is history. In the 30+ years since, this group of friends has supported many causes, played more than 2,500 live shows, recorded two live albums helped to raise a staggering £24 million for charities.
With an undoubted stage presence, Big Vern 'n' the Shootahs generate a vibe that always gets audiences on their feet, singing and dancing along to classic funk, soul, and party tunes.
What better way to spend the longer Spring evenings than with a band that always brings the party?
Tickets are on sale now, priced at £20, from the online box office or direct from the venue by calling 01555 673199.
