Essential repairs are to be carried out on two roads in Ravenstruther, Clydesdale.
The work will take place in two phases, with phase one starting from 7am on Monday 28 August and meaning the A743 between Silvermuir Road and No 4 Corbiehall Terrace will be closed for resurfacing.
The work should be completed and the road reopened by Wednesday 30 August.
Phase two of the works will see the A70 between the junctions of Lanark Rd/Corbiehall Terrace and A73 Hyndford Bridge closed for resurfacing, also from 7am on Monday 28 August. The work is expected to take two weeks.
No motor vehicles (except those engaged in the work and emergency service vehicles) will be able to park or drive on the road during this time.
The signed diversion route will be via the A73, A706, A721 and vice versa for the A70 closure. For the A743 closure, the diversion will be via the A743, A706, A721, A70 and vice versa.
Head of Roads,Transportation and Fleet Services, Colin Park, said: “We are aware of the disruption that this road closure will cause and hope that the long-term benefits will be valued.
“Your patience and understanding during the works would be much appreciated.
“If you can avoid the area during the works please do so, but if not please leave extra time for your journey.”
