Open days to support projects needing unpaid work
Published: Monday 10 July 2023

Are you a charitable organisation, community / voluntary group, or an individual project needing unpaid workers?
Then, why not come along to the council’s Community Payback Service which is hosting four open days during July and August.
The Unpaid Work Team will be on hand to help provide information and assistance on a range of activities from environmental improvements or conservation work, to supporting local charities and community/volunteer groups.
As well as ongoing support the team also has a laundry service providing short term emergency assistance. And there is a workshop for creating products such as planters, raised beds and benches for communities.
To be eligible for assistance from the Unpaid Work Team you must be able to confirm:
- It will benefit the local community
- It will not take any paid work away from others
- It will not replace the council’s, private or voluntary organisation’s core business
- You are unable to complete the work on your own
If so, then please email Unpaid_Work@southlanarkshire.gov.uk – phone 01698 722150 or come along to one of our open days at the following:
- Hamilton Mausoleum, Mausoleum Drive, Hamilton, ML3 6BY – Wednesday 19 July from 11am-2pm
