Stephen Gibson replaced former Executive Director, Daniel Lowe, and took up his position towards the end of last year.
Stephen has a long career in local authority and social housing, most recently as Divisional Director of Planning, Housing, Building Standards and Transport Strategy at Glasgow City Council.
Stephen added: “I have really enjoyed my first few months since joining South Lanarkshire, which has a reputation as a leading local authority, not just in social housing, but in many other sectors.
“I’ve been all around the area so far, meeting lots of colleagues in many different services of Housing and Technical Resources.
“No matter where I’ve gone or who I’ve spoken to, I’ve been left very impressed by their knowledge, enthusiasm, and teamwork.
“This is backed up with feedback from tenants and residents I’ve spoken to.”
South Lanarkshire Council Chief Executive Cleland Sneddon said: “Stephen has shown a clear dedication to improving housing standards throughout his career.
“This is a key leadership role as we pursue the council’s ambitions to keep delivering, and improve, our services on behalf of local residents. Stephen was the unanimous choice of the recruitment panel.”
