By-election to be held in East Kilbride

Candidates are being sought for a council by-election in East Kilbride West.
The Ward 9 by-election has been called following the resignation of Councillor Ali Salamati, with the Notice of Election formally published today.
The by-election will take place on Thursday 6 July 2023 and in order to vote eligible voters must be aged 16 or over and be registered to vote by midnight on Tuesday 20 June 2023.
Details on registering to vote and other important information and dates can be found on the council website.
These include details of an awareness session for candidates and election agents that will be held online on Tuesday 23 May 2023.
