Two off-road all-terrain vehicles are helping tackle crime across South Lanarkshire.
The South Lanarkshire Community Safety Partnership agreed to provide Police Scotland with more than £19,000 to purchase the vehicles and personal protective equipment.
Chair of the Community Safety Partnership, Councillor Davie McLachlan, said: “There has been a significant increase in the number of incidents reported of anti-social behaviour occurring in areas that are hard to access by conventional foot patrols, such as nature trails, waste ground and large areas of open ground.
“These vehicles will help officers reach these areas quickly and resolve the issues raised.”
Police Scotland Superintendent Andy Thomson said: “The quads are an excellent addition.
“They provide our dedicated officers with enhanced capability to both prevent crime and enforce the law in South Lanarkshire.”
The Community Safety Partnership comprises of a range of agencies and services who work together to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour to help make sure residents, visitors and businesses feel safe in their homes and in the community.
