Event will help those with sensory support needs
Published: Friday 21 April 2023
An Information Event for people with sensory support needs and those that care for them takes place in Lanark next week.
The event is from 10am until 12pm on Wednesday 26 April at Lanark Memorial Hall.
Soumen Sengupta, Director of Health and Social Care for South Lanarkshire, said: “If you, or someone you know or care for, is struggling to hear the television or read a book – or maybe you are looking for information on benefits or equipment – then please come along and let’s see how we can help.
“Whatever you are contending with, there are organisations and people who can share experience, advice and support – and this is just one of the events we have planned to introduce you to them.”
Staff from the Health and Social Care Partnership, Council Money Matters and South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture will be joined at the event by colleagues from organisations including RNIB, Sight Scotland Veterans, Healthy Valleys, and Guide Dogs. Qualified British Sign Language interpreters will be available.
There will be future events held across the Hamilton, East Kilbride and Rutherglen/Cambuslang localities. Information regarding future sessions will be publicised via our social media channels in due course.
