Every tenant is encouraged to have their say during this year’s rent setting consultation.
The cost-of-living crisis is having an impact on household budgets across the country, and this consultation allows you to have your say on the proposed rent increase for 2023-24.
This year’s programme has once again been designed and co-ordinated by the Budget Scrutiny Group, which is made up of tenant representatives and council officers.
Tenant representative, David Downie, said “As we face another challenging year, it is really important that as many tenants as possible get involved and have their say on the proposed rent increase for 2023-24 and also the council’s future investment priorities.”
This year’s consultation programme provides the opportunity for tenants to participate through face to face and/or online meetings.
To close this year’s programme, a tenant led event will be held in December 2022. The South Lanarkshire Tenant Development Support Project (SLTDSP) will once again facilitate the event, which will provide an opportunity for tenants to come together to discuss issues and have their say.
The views gathered during the consultation will be included in a report to the council early in 2023,where approval for the rent increase will be sought.
For more information and to have your say, go to the council website and keep your eye on the council’s Facebook and Twitter pages. If you are interested in attending the closing event, contact SLTDSP by email.
