Councillor Robert Brown, Chair of Community and Enterprise Resources at South Lanarkshire Council, said: “The huge response for entries is not only testimony to how highly regarded these awards are held within our business community, it is also a reflection on the vitality and resolution of the companies out there as they continue to pull away from the problems being faced by everyone during these problematic times.
“Both Lanarkshire councils have always been so impressed by the resolve and determination to succeed by our local businesses.
“It is the innovation and flexibility of local businesses which will lead the sustainable economic recovery we urgently need to see in Lanarkshire, having the skills to deliver in a fast changing environment. Our two councils will support local companies in every way we can.”
North Lanarkshire Council Leader Councillor Jordan Linden added: “Congratulations to all our finalists. I have been enormously impressed by the quality of this year’s submissions and the levels of innovation and enterprise.
“These are tough times for many in our communities, with a cost of living crisis and the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, and I know it is particularly challenging for businesses. The way businesses have responded to the unique circumstances of the pandemic and adapted, in that context, to not only continue, but also develop and grow is truly exceptional.
“Looking to the future, I would like to assure you that whatever the size of your business, your offering or whether you operate from your home, a shed, office block or factory floor - here in Lanarkshire we want to work with you and provide the support you need to achieve your objective and fulfil your potential.
“That is why both North and South Lanarkshire Councils are investing in facilities and services, working tirelessly to bring new companies to the area, providing support to businesses with recruitment and skills, and boosting the local economy to continue its positive growth.”
