Revised policy helps protect communities
Published: Friday 20 May 2022
The council’s revised Anti-Social Behaviour Policy is a clear commitment to protecting local communities.
It was launched on 1 March 2022 following extensive public and partner consultation last year.
The policy aims to enhance the council’s long-term partnership approach to preventing and tackling anti-social behaviour by ensuring services can provide the appropriate support to victims.
The policy provides a clear definition of anti-social behaviour and takes account of updated legislation.
It also recognises that visitors to tenancies can be held responsible for anti-social behaviour and provides details on how services will support victims of domestic abuse.
Executive Director of Housing and Technical Resources, Daniel Lowe, said: “The council is committed to tackling anti-social behaviour.
"The revised policy aligns with the wider Anti-social Behaviour Strategy, and sets out the council’s approach which was formed following consultation with a wide range of services and partners, as well as feedback from those with lived experience of anti-social behaviour.”
The new policy can be found on the council website.
If you are affected by anti-social behaviour, there is a range of helpful information on the council website, including contact details for advice and support.
