Improvements to be made to road surface
Published: Monday 23 May 2022

Essential resurfacing works are to take place on a key stretch of road in Clydesdale.
The A702 Abington from 83 Dumfries Road, Elvanfoot, to the Daer Water junction, will be closed from 6 June to 10 June.
A significant diversion route will be in place, via the B7076, A701, A75, A76 and A702. The diversion route is approximately 65 miles long and will take up to 90 mins to travel.
Chair of the Community and Enterprise Resources Committee, Councillor Robert Brown, said: “We apologise in advance for any inconvenience these essential works may cause.
“Please try to avoid the area if possible, and if you can’t, leave extra time for your journey.
“I hope local people will see the considerable benefit of the road resurfacing.”
