Sponsor named for Lanarkshire Business Excellence Awards
Published: Wednesday 18 May 2022
The Lanarkshire Business Excellence Awards are firmly back in business with an overwhelming response of award applications.
And with the announcement of Albert Bartlett as the event’s principal sponsor, the event is set to be even bigger and better since its enforced hiatus due to the Covid 19 pandemic.
Applications closed last week with a huge rise in submissions from previous years, demonstrating how keen Lanarkshire companies are to get back to business and celebrate their successes.
Pauline Elliott, Head of South Lanarkshire’s Planning and Economic Development, said: “It is great to see that so many Lanarkshire businesses have shown the resilience and determination to come through such a difficult few years.
“This year’s entries have surpassed anything that the organisers could have hoped for. And after the unenviably difficult task ahead deciding who are the best of the best, I am really looking forward to seeing the results of who has come out on top in each of the 10 categories.”
And Pamela Humphries, Head of Planning and Regeneration, North Lanarkshire Council, said: “It’s fantastic to see such a positive response to this year’s awards. The high level of submissions clearly demonstrates the resilience and confidence felt by local businesses as they recover from the impact of the pandemic and move forward.
“We’re all delighted to be part of this year’s, in person, Lanarkshire Business Excellence Awards event and welcome the opportunity to recognise the achievements of businesses from across the area.”
Judges now have the unenviable task of scoring all applications and shortlisting finalists for each category, which will be announced in June.
The Awards Dinner, hosted by broadcaster and actor, Grant Stott, is taking place on Friday 2 September at Motherwell Concert Hall. Around 400 guests will mark the achievements and successes of businesses, large and small, from across the Lanarkshire area and celebrate as the winners of each awards category are unveiled.
We’re also delighted to announce Albert Bartlett as the principal sponsor of the 2022 Lanarkshire Business Excellence Awards. The family-owned company was founded in 1948 and has its headquarters in Airdrie. It’s the UK’s lead supplier of potatoes and is committed to providing the best fresh potatoes grown in the most responsible way along with a range of prepared frozen and chilled potato dishes.
Michael Jarvis, Head of marketing at Albert Bartlett, said: “We have been proudly based in Lanarkshire since our founder started the business in his garden shed in Coatbridge 74 years ago. We are delighted to support these awards, which mark the entrepreneurial skills, hard work and determination of our home region.”
Tickets for the Awards Dinner are on sale now and available to purchase through the awards website www.lanarkshirebusinessevents.co.uk.
The Lanarkshire Business Excellence Awards are hosted jointly by North and South Lanarkshire Councils and are one of the longest running business awards, celebrating the success and diversity of the Lanarkshire business community.
