Council offices now up for sale
Published: Wednesday 4 May 2022
The council’s Montrose House offices in Hamilton are now up for sale.
The premises were formerly the offices of the historic Southern Scottish Electricity Board and were purchased by the local authority approximately 20 years ago for use as offices in addition to the adjacent Council Headquarters.
They have now been declared surplus to requirements and are available for purchase.
Full details about the property is available from the council website.
Executive Director of Housing and Technical Resources, Daniel Lowe, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to purchase a building of almost 6,000 square metres in prime location in Hamilton.
“There are excellent transport links and fantastic local facilities, as well as 76 marked parking bays.
“It’s worth pointing out that any proposed alternative use will require detailed planning consent and the potential purchaser is encouraged to take into account the relevant local development plan policies and guidance, and to discuss their proposals with the Planning Service.”
Offers, together with details of the proposed development, including layout, must be submitted by email and the closing date is 12pm on Friday 8 July 2022. Offers will be judged on their individual merits. Late offers will not be considered under any circumstances.
