Chair of South Lanarkshire Council’s Community and Enterprise Resources Committee, Councillor John Anderson, said: “We apologise in advance for any inconvenience that may occur during these essential road improvement works.
“General traffic will be unable to travel through the closures when in operation, although we will endeavour to maintain access for businesses and residents who live or work within the closure wherever possible.
“There may be instances where leaving and entering will be significantly delayed depending on the status and progress of works on site. If you wish to avoid this, it may be advisable to park your vehicle outside the road closure prior to works starting. Traffic Marshals and site staff will be there to advise and assist residents during the working day.
“We would request that all road users allow additional time for all journeys which involve the use of A72 Almada Street Roundabout during the times indicated and that they plan their journey accordingly.”
