Crafty Christmas fun at Calderglen
Published: Wednesday 1 December 2021
A series of kids Christmas craft days will be running through December at Calderglen Zoo.
The East Kilbride attraction will be hosting the fun drop-in activity sessions in the conservatory at the zoo, between 1pm and 4pm, on various days in the run up to Christmas.
The craft sessions are aimed at children aged 5-12 although younger ones can join in if accompanied by an adult. The children will get the chance to make their own Christmas decorations.
South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture’s team at Calderglen will host the drop-in activity on the following dates in December - Saturday 11, Sunday 12, Saturday 18, Sunday 19, Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23.
The drop-in activity costs from £1 to £3 depending on the choice of decoration, there is also a small zoo admission fee to be paid (90p for children, £1:80 for adults). Children will love visiting all the animals and getting creative for Christmas in the cosy conservatory.
Chair of South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture Councillor Peter Craig said: “These Christmas craft sessions give a great seasonal feel to the programme of activities the team at Calderglen conjure up throughout the year.
“The decorations children create and take home with them will be a little reminder of a lovely day out every Christmas for years to come.”
