School holiday dates in South Lanarkshire have been agreed for the 2022-23 academic year.

Councillor Katy Loudon, the chair of the council’s Education Resources Committee, said: “I am delighted that my fellow councillors have agreed these dates.

“More than 2200 people responded to our consultation on these school holiday dates.

“However, following parents and carers telling us that our proposed date for the February break in 2023 was too early, we agreed to change this to Monday 13 February and Tuesday 14 February 2023.”

The dates were also drawn up to match similar arrangements with neighbouring local authorities.

The school holiday dates for 2022-2023 are now available on the council’s website, including these in-service days:

• Monday 15 August 2022
• Tuesday 16 August 2022
• Monday 14 November 2022
• Wednesday 15 February 2023
• Tuesday 2 May 2023
