An Evening with Robert and May Miller and Friends 12-13 March 2025 8:00pm £25.00 (subject to £1.50 transaction fee) Village Theatre East Kilbride
Robert and May have worked together since 1988.
Through the years they have established quite a following of loyal fans and more recently members from their ever popular Millerettes Club which began during the Covid years.
They always like to bring something different to their theatre shows and this time they have Liam Dolan presenting the show. Regular visitors to the theatre already know of May's humour so along with Liam, there should be a few more laughs than usual.
Jane Henderson is always present at the East Kilbride shows and if you have not heard her sing before you are in for a treat - she has a phenomenal voice.
The last couple of shows also included the talents of Aileen Finn who is now becoming a favourite with the Robert and May audience. Aileen is a great vocalist with years of experience under her belt.
There are always new songs and stories at these nights so if you like great music and good banter then East Kilbride Theatre is the place to be.

Filskit Fiddles Fae Orkney - (“Filskit, adj: frisky, high-spirited, exuberant; addicted to immoderate hilarity”).
Fired up and raring to go after a lockdown spent creating hugely popular film project, ‘The Orkney Series’, Scottish powerhouse quartet FARA unveiled their highly anticipated third studio album in 2022. Bursting with brand new self-penned instrumental tracks, and with songs adapted from the words of Orcadian poets, ‘Energy Islands’ is fuelled by their native Orkney’s revolutionary role in renewable energy. Immensely popular it entered the UK folk charts at no 10!
Fusing the talents of three fine Orcadian fiddlers and vocalists - Jeana Leslie, Catriona Price and Kristan Harvey - alongside stand-out Highland pianist and newest member Rory Matheson, FARA have firmly secured their foothold at the forefront of the Scottish folk scene since taking 2014’s Orkney Folk Festival by storm. Their unique mix of spell-binding vocals, intricately woven fiddle harmonies and energetic closers, combined with an obvious kinship born in childhood, is sure to delight and entertain audiences wherever they go.
Shortlisted in 2015’s Scots Trad Music Awards for Up and Coming Act of the Year, the band performed a triumphant set at the 2017 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards at the Albert Hall as Horizon Award nominees and have gone on to win a German Critics’ Choice Award and a Live Act of the Year nomination at 2019’s Scots Trad Music Awards. They continue to tour internationally, with sell-out performances at festivals across Europe, Australia and North America, as well as a tour of China in 2023.

Singin' I'm no a Billy he's a Tim 14-15 March 2025 7:30pm £28.00 / £27.00 concession (subject to £1.50 transaction fee) East Kilbride Village Theatre
A phenomenon in Scotland where it has sold out countless nationwide tours, a sensation at the Edinburgh International Fringe Festival and now touring throughout the United Kingdom & Eire.
Israeli vs Palestinian, Catholic v Protestant, Celtic vs Rangers…
When tribal factions clash can reason ever prevail?
A play exploring bigotry and ethnic identity.
What happens when, on the day of the Old Firm Match, you lock a Celtic and Rangers fan in a cell together?
Fireworks! And a weird kind of unity.
Two hate filled rival football fans locked up in the same prison cell verbally lacerate each other while their teams assemble for the derby in the stadium nearby.
In this crucible, Billy and Tim vent all their fears, bigotry, paranoia, misconceptions and, most significantly, the mutual loathing that has shaped their whole lives. The lads’ collision is not just a matter of football rivalry, but a very serious clash of cultures with all the deep-seated bigotry that that entails.
Face to face with the object of their hatred, do they choose to destroy each other or to confront their demons and start a dialogue towards some kind of ceasefire?
A potent allegory for peace processes all over the world, Des Dillon’s extraordinary moving and hilarious “Singin’ I’m No A Billy, He’s a Tim” speaks for any divided culture where polarisation is inbred and prejudice governs reason.
When drama is supposed to reflect society, what better arena than the sport that grips society most?
“There’s more to football than football”.
