The FP Arts Short Film Festival is a monthly and annual event hosted by Fulfilment Pictures. Our goal is to establish East Kilbride as a film hub.

This pioneering festival, the first of its kind in East Kilbride, invites global film submissions for monthly screenings at the Arts Centre, leading to an annual ceremony at the Village Theatre with networking, panel discussions, awards, live performance and many more opportunities. The festival seeks to unite the local and international film community, fostering creative opportunities and jobs while offering a mutually beneficial partnership opportunity for South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture.

Our festival places a significant emphasis on its international scope, actively encouraging inclusivity and discovery of new independent talent. We are dedicated to supporting visionary films, bringing together diverse elements of filmmaking and storytelling, making it a truly global platform for creativity and talent.

Aly and Phil

Together, Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham have established themselves as the epitome of excellence in the world of traditional music.

With their musical magic and quick-witted humour, they will pull your emotional strings one moment and have you falling off your seat with laughter the next!

Join us to hear Phil Cunningham’s astonishing dexterity on accordion, and Aly Bain’s impassioned fiddle playing.

It’s little wonder that these two stalwarts of Scottish traditional music have both been recognised with doctorates and MBEs for their services to music. Aly has brought his musical knowledge to the production of several networked television series, bringing traditional music to a constantly widening audience, while Phil remains in great demand as a composer and presenter of programmes for BBC ranging from music to nature documentaries.

They have toured together since 1988 and created six albums as a duo.

Through living very international lives dedicated to music, these two have learned how to put on a cracking good show and never disappoint. Don’t miss out!

“Probably the best traditional musicians you are ever likely to hear” – Mike Russell

***** REVIEW

“I had been expecting a show of consummate virtuosity, polished and presented with wit, but perhaps overly laid-back. I and my companion (who had seen them twice before) were blown away by the sheer freshness of the performance, and how intently these long-time partners engaged with each-other, and us, through tantalising fiddle, delicious accordion, and general joy.”
Tina Moskal Fringe by The Sea 2023

The Weir

At a rural pub in County Leitrim, Ireland, four old friends get together to swap stories, wind each other up and share a few “small ones” together.

Tonight is different, however, as the four friends are joined by Valerie – a young woman who has recently moved into the area and has a few stories of her own to tell.

Conor McPherson’s Olivier award-winning play was described as the “play of the decade” when it was first performed. Nearly thirty years on, it still has the power to bewitch audiences with its good-natured craic and eerie tales of Irish folklore.

Presented by the group that brought you The Shut In, Plaza Suite and Ulster American.

An amateur production by arrangement with Nick Hern Books.

Available to book online or by calling East Kilbride Arts Centre on 01355 261000.

Cost: £15.00 / £13.00

This breathtaking tribute to Tina Turner celebrates the amazing life and work of the Queen of Rock ’n’ Roll!

Early hits, including River Deep - Mountain High and Nutbush City Limits, were just a taste of what was to come. We Don’t Need Another Hero, Simply the Best, What’s Love Got to Do With It, I Don’t Wanna Lose You and When the Heartache is Over propelled Tina to stadium concert stardom.

Supported by her dazzling dancing girls in sequins, feathers and diamonds, Justine recreates and remembers those famed live performances for one night only!

Lola's Pool Party

Date: 24 August 2024

Location: The Town House Hamilton

Time: 12:00

Lola's Pool Party 24 August 2024 12:00pm £20.00 / £50.00 VIP The Town House Hamilton

A charity 8 ball pool event which the whole family can enjoy. The winner of the event will walk away with £20,000 and the beautiful trophy.

This is the first ever Lola's Pool Party Grand Finals and it is an event  that started with 50 qualifiers from all over the UK. The winners from each qualifier will meet here at The Town House Hamilton to play for the title and the top prize of £20,000!

The main event comprises a one-table set up complete with a 30 second shot clock, to keep the players on their toes! The 50 players are in the hat and it's a random draw to see who knocks each other out in a single frame shoot-out, last person standing event.

Meanwhile there will be a live DJ and lots of other games to keep the family entertained, like bingo, speed-pool, player sweep and raffles. There will also be a Golden Ball raffle with 10 players left to invite someone from the crowd to take part in the event.... so anyone in the venue has a great chance of winning the £20,000!!

It will be a great fun day out for the whole family while raising money for such an amazing charity - Strathcarron Hospice - on behalf of Laura Boyle (Lola), who sadly past away from triple negative breast cancer in February 2022.
Laura and her professional pool-player husband, Mark Boyle, came up with the idea of this event just before Covid hit. It's an event that brings fun and games to a pool event that anyone can win and the whole family can enjoy. Also supporting local charities at the same time!

Come along and be part of our new Pool Party journey.....

Available to book online or by calling The Town House Hamilton on 01698 452299.

Cost: £20.00 / £50.00 VIP
