Library charges
Using the South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture library service is free. Some of our enhanced services and facilities are however chargeable.
If you cannot find the item you are looking for on the library catalogue you will be presented with a link to allow you to place a request for the item. The link will appear on the results page at the end of your catalogue search. The requested item will be considered for purchase, taking account of South Lanarkshire Libraries’ stock selection guidelines. If the decision is taken to purchase the item the person placing the request will be informed when it is available to collect.
If after consideration the decision is taken not to purchase the item, library staff will be able to advise on alternative ways of sourcing it.
South Lanarkshire Libraries offer an inter-library loan service for electronic documents, mainly journal articles, if they are available from The British Library or The National Library of Scotland. South Lanarkshire Libraries charge a non-refundable administration fee for this service and there is also a charge levied by The British Library or The National Library of Scotland as appropriate. Please contact your local library for details.
