Tennis
Tennis is a racquet sport that can be played individually against a single opponent (singles) or between two teams of two players each (doubles). Each player uses a racquet that is strung with cord to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over or around a net and into the opponent's court. Tennis is a good sport for maintaining health, fitness, strength and agility. It also has social and psychological benefits.

New for 2023 sees a provision for free access to tennis courts at Whitemoss Recreation Area – John Wright Sports Centre – East Kilbride. There is no need to book to play on these newly refurbished courts. Users are required to provide their own equipment to play at this facility.
