Francie and Josie: It's a Stoater

Scottish pantomime and variety stars Liam Dolan and Johnny Mac are back with a brand new show for 2025.

Having toured their tribute to Rikki Fulton and Jack Milroy for the past 10 years, Johnny and Liam return with their uncanny resemblance as “Francie and Josie” in “It’s A Stoater”.

This show will take the audience back in time as the boys transport you down Memory Lane.

With unheard songs and unseen sketches, mixed in with a few audience favourites you can expect to see more Francie and Josie than ever before.

So, buckle up your seat belts, sit back, relax and be prepared to laugh out loud on this “Stoater” of a road trip!

Gary Meikle: Neurospicy

On 23rd January 2024 I was diagnosed as being neurodivergent which was kind of a surprise to me, funny enough not to anyone that knows me.

Although surprising this pretty much answered my full life and why I am the way I am.

So, come join me in a show where I’ll give you a first hand insight from my delusional eyes to what goes on in my ever-expanding mind with stories of how I've managed to survive through a life of total confusement to how and why I now prefer to be alone, mostly!

Suitable for 16+

Available to book online or by calling East Kilbride Arts Centre on 01355 261000.

Exhibition: The Dutch Don’t Forget – The Cameronians in the British Liberation Army

The Dutch Don't Forget exhibition at Low Parks Museum

Standing outside the entrance to Low Parks Museum is a simple, bronze memorial plaque on a polished granite plinth that bears the words “The Dutch Don’t Forget”. The plaque was presented to veterans of the 52nd (Lowland) Division, a Scottish, Territorial Army formation that played a vital part in the liberation of the Netherlands in the final stages of the Second World War. The message is simple, the Dutch will never forget the sacrifices made by the men of the 52nd (Lowland) Division in freeing them from Nazi oppression.

Two battalions of The Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) proudly fought in the Dutch campaign in the Second World War. The 6th Battalion, historically covering the county of Lanarkshire, and the 7th Battalion, drawn mainly from the south side of the city of Glasgow.

This commemorative exhibition highlights the part played by these two battalions, as part of the 52nd (Lowland) Division, in this pivotal stage of the Second World War.

Free entry, open Tuesday to Saturday 10:00am-5:00pm.
