Abington

Station Road is closed between Carlisle Road and Southwood Road from 10pm on Thursday 9 January to 7am on Friday 10 January 2025 for Network Rail masonry and pointing repairs. Diversion via Station Road, Carlisle Road, Edinburgh Road, A702 and Coldchapel Road.

Auchengray

Calla Road is closed between Greenshield House to Calla Doone from 9pm to 6am each night from Monday 16 December to Wednesday 18 December for Scottish Water flushing works. Diversion via Calla Road, A70, A721, B7016, C37, C203 and vice versa.

Auldhouse

Burnhouse Road is closed between Auldhouse Road and 50 metres northwestwards of Burnhouse Bridge from Monday 11 November to Friday 20 December for bridge refurbishment works. Diversion via Auldhouse Road, Shields Road, Burnhouse Road and vice versa.

Biggar

North Back Road is closed from the A702 to Thorpe Rig Road from 8am Monday 18 November for up to 5 days for Fibre Network works. Diversion via A702, B7016, Northcroft’s Road, North Back Road and vice versa.

Blackwood

The Lairs is closed between Howe Drive and Moa Court from 9am until 9pm on Friday 10 January 2025 for Scottish Water works. Diversion via Howe Drive, Ashmore Avenue and The Lairs.

Blantyre

Hillhouse Road (Eastbound) is closed between Douglas Street and Technology Avenue from 9pm to 6am nightly from Monday 13 January to Wednesday 15 January for anti-skid installation works. Diversion via Hillhouse Road Roundabout, Douglas Street, Main Street Blantyre, East Avenue, Hillhouse Road.

Hazelwood Drive is closed between Fernslea Avenue and Spruce Avenue from Monday 13 January to Friday 17 January for Scottish Power works. Diversion via Fernslea Avenue, Stonefield Road, Glasgow Road, Bardykes Road and Spruce Avenue.

Calder/Westburn Road is closed between Blantyre Farm Road to Hallside Road, Cambuslang from 7am on Monday 13 January to 5pm on Sunday 29 June for roundabout construction works. Diversion route for vehicles under 4.6m – Blantyre Farm Road, A724 Glasgow Road, Hamilton Road, Westburn Road and vice versa. Diversion route for vehicles over 4.6m - Blantyre Farm Road, A724 Glasgow Road, Hamilton Road, Mill Road, Old Mill Road, Westburn Road and vice versa.

Hillhouse Road (westbound access to Technology Avenue) is closed from 9.30am to 3.30pm on Friday 17 January for anti-skid installation works. Diversion via Hillhouse Road, Hillhouse Road Roundabout, Hillhouse Road and Technology Avenue.

Bothwell

Ferry Road is closed between Blantyre Mill Road and Main Street from Thursday 5 December to Friday 6 December for BT maintenance works. No alternative routes, local access will be maintained when possible throughout the works.

Station Road is closed between Main Street and Blantyre Mill Road from 9.30am to 3.30pm on Tuesday 14 January for BT Openreach works. Diversion via Main Street, Blantyre Road, Blantyre Mill Road, Station Road and vice versa.

Braehead

Shodshill Road is closed from West of Shodshill Bridge for 180 metres from 3.30pm Wednesday 6 November for up to 21 days for emergency Scottish Water works. Diversion via Shodshill Road, C37, Westshields Road, Cockridge Road and vice versa. 

Braidwood

Woodhall Road is closed between B7056 Braidwood Road and Woodhall Farm access from 6am Thursday 28 November to 12pm Thursday 5 December for SPEN cable installation works

Cambuslang

Lightburn Road is closed between 5 Lightburn Road and Hamilton Road from 8am Monday 18 November to 5pm Friday 22 November for SGN maintenance works. Diversion via Lightburn Road and Hamilton Road.

Main Street is closed between Greenlees Road and Bridge Street from 6am to 10pm on Sunday 24 November for the Cambuslang festive light switch on ceremony. Diversion via Main Street, Clydeford Road, Bridge Street and vice versa.

Wellshot Drive is closed between Buchanan Drive and North Avenue from 7am Monday 2 December and 7pm Friday 6 December for repairs. Northbound diversion via Buchanan Drive, Glasgow Road, Beech Avenue and North Avenue. Southbound diversion via North Avenue, Beech Avenue, Glasgow Road, Main Street, West Coats Road, Douglas Drive, Brownside Road and Buchanan Drive.

Hamilton Road (northbound only) is closed between Howieshill Avenue and Andrew Sillars Avenue from 7pm Friday 6 December to 7am Saturday 7 December for Scottish Water maintenance works. Diversion via Howieshill Avenue, Vicarland Road, Greenlees Road, Main Street and Hamilton Road.

Carluke

Newbarns Street is closed between 16 Stonefield Gardens and 2 Shand Lane from 9am to 5pm on Wednesday 20 November for patching works.

Carstairs

High Street and Hamilton Street are closed on Saturday 30 November for up to 24 hours for the Carluke Christmas Market. There is no alternative route.

A721 Chapel Street is closed between John Street and A721 Glamis Avenue from 1.30pm to 5.30pm on Saturday 30 November for the Carluke Christmas Market. Diversion via A721, A73, James Street, John Street and vice versa.

Chapelton

Bents Road is closed between Main Street and A723 Strathaven Road from Thursday 12 December to Monday 16 December for BT equipment installation. Diversion via Burn Road and A723 Strathaven Road and vice versa.

Crossford

Holm Road is closed between A72 Lanark Road (at Nethanfoot Bridge) and Clydevale Orchard from 8am Monday 28 October for up to 6 weeks for works by Scottish Power Energy Works. Diversion via Holm Road, A72 Lanark Road and vice versa.

Douglas

The Loaning is closed between Ayr Road and Currie’s Close between 8am Monday 9 December until 5pm Friday 13 December for BT works. Diversion via Ayr Road, Main Street, The Loaning or via Ayr Road, Colonel’s Entry, Main Street and The Loaning.

East Kilbride

Montgomery Place is closed at Kittoch Street from Thursday 1 August to Wednesday 30 April 2025 for demolition works. There is no alternative route.

Falkland Park will be closed from 8am on Monday 18 November to 3.30pm on Friday 22 November for repairs to the footways. 

Ocein Drive, Kingsland View, Suntroy Lane and Suntroy Grove are closed between Nikka Drive and termination from 9.30am to 9pm on Wednesday 27 November for Scottish Power manhole repairs.

Elvanfoot

A702 Dumfries Road is closed between M74 northbound off ramp at junction 14 and Elvanfoot Bridge and the B7040 Leadhills Road is closed between A702 Elvanfoot and Main Street from 6am on Saturday 14 December to 6am Monday 16 December for off load and delivery of new substation transformer. Diversion via A702, A76, B797 and B7040, B797, A702.

Glassford

Hunterlees Road is closed between Hunterlees House and Burnside Highway from 11.59pm on Sunday 17 November  to 11.59pm Sunday 24 November for ongoing emergency repairs to Priestburn Bridge superstructure. Diversion via Hunterlees Road, Glassford Road, Millheugh Road, Hamilton Road, Plotcock Road, Craigthornhill Road, Burnside Highway.

Burnside Highway is closed from 8am to 3.30pm on Monday 25 November for minor repairs to the road surface. Diversion via Hunterlees Road and Larkhall Road.

Hamilton

Union Street (southbound only) is closed between Almada Street and number 88 Union Street from 9.30am on Wednesday 13 November to Wednesday 4 December for SGN emergency gas mains works. Diversion via Clydesdale Street, Douglas Street, Almada Street, Muir Street, Palace Grounds Road, Blackswell Lane, Low Patrick Street, Duke Street, Brandon Street and Union Street.

Portland Park is closed between the Doctor's Surgery and Portland Place from 8am to 6pm on Saturday 23 November for repairs. 

Quarry Street will be closed between Cadzow Street and Duke Street from 5.30am to 7pm on various dates in 2024 for events:

Brandon Street is closed between Union Street and Leechlee Road (eastbound only) on Sunday 24 November for repairs to damaged Scottish Water ironwork. Diversion via Union Street, Almada Street, Muir Street, Palace Grounds Road, Blackswell Lane, Low Patrick Street and Duke Street.

Newfield Crescent is closed from Monday 25 November to Friday 6 December to install a new pedestrian crossing on Burnbank Road. Diversion via Woodview Crescent.

Newhousemill Road is closed between Muttonhole Road and Calderside Road (Blantyre) from Monday 27 January to Friday 31 January 2025 for carriageway patching works. Diversion via A726 Strathaven Road, East Kilbride Expressway, Sydes Brae, Parkneuk Road, Newhousemill Road and vice versa.

Annsfield Road is closed from 8am on Tuesday 7 January to 5pm on Friday 17 January for utility works on the carriageway. Diversion via Meikle Earnock Road, Graham Avenue and Strathaven Road

Lanark

High Street is closed between Bannatyne Street and Wellgate and Bloomgate (eastbound) is closed between Hope Street and High Street from 6pm on Friday 22 November for up to 2 hours for the Winterfest procession. Diversion via Hope Street, Gallowhill Road, Hall Place, St Leonard Street, Bannatyne Street and vice versa.

Larkhall

Union Street is closed between Montgomery Street and McNeil Street from 7am to 9.30pm on Sunday 1 December for a Christmas Fayre. Southbound diversion via Muir Street, Percy Street and Wellgate Street. Northbound diversion via Raploch Street, Caledonian Road and McNeil Street. 

Candermill and Marlage Road are closed between Hill Road and Broomfield Road from Monday 27 January to Friday 21 March 2025 for Scottish Water mains upgrade works.

Rigside

Mountstuart Street is closed between A70 Ayr Road and Mountstuart Avenue from 9am to 9pm on Sunday 8 December. Diversion via Mountstuart Street, Douglasdale Street, Beechgrove Street and A70 Ayr Road.

Rutherglen

King Street is closed between 273 King Street and Farmeloan Road from Monday 18 November to Friday 22 November for Virgin Media maintenance works.

Hillend Road is closed from Blairbeth Road for around 26 metres south from Tuesday 19 November to Friday 22 November for Virgin Media maintenance work.

Kirkriggs Gardens is closed from 16 Kirkriggs Gardens for up to 50 metres west from Thursday 21 November to Friday 22 November for Virgin Media maintenance works.

Main Street is closed between Mill Street and Stonelaw Road and Queen Street is closed at the junction with Main Street from 6am to 10pm on Saturday 23 November for the Rutherglen festive light switch-on ceremony. Diversion for Main Street is via Stonelaw Road, Rodger Drive, Mill Street and vice versa. Diversion for Queen Street is via Potters Way, Glasgow Road and vice versa.

Westmuir Place (north side) is closed between 24 and 38 Westmuir Place from Monday 25 November to Friday 29 November for Virgin Media maintenance work.

Greystone Avenue is closed from 1 Belhaven Terrace to 225 Stonelaw Road from 2pm to 6pm on Friday 29 November for the Christmas tree light switch on event. Diversion via Greystone Avenue, Springfield Road, Southill Avenue, Stonelaw Road and vice versa.

Bankhead Road is closed between Ewing Street and Mill Street from 8am Monday 6 January to 5pm Sunday 2 February for Scottish Gas works. Diversion via Mill Street, Kings Park Avenue, Bankhead Road and vice versa.

Wallace Street is closed between Bankhead Road and Harriet Street from 8am Monday 6 January to 5pm Sunday 2 February for Scottish Gas works. Diversion via Wallace Street, Bouverie Street, Farie Street, Cathcart Road, Burnhill Street, Mill Street and vice versa.

Sandford

Stonehouse Road is closed between School Road and Waterside Street from 10am to 11.30am on Wednesday 27 November for Scottish Water works. Diversion via School Road and Stonehouse Road.

Low Kype Road is closed between B7086 Strathaven Road and Struther Highway from 9.30am to 3.30pm on Friday 10 January 2025 for BT works. Diversion via Struther Highway, High Kype Road and the B7086, Strathaven Road.

Stonehouse

Ringwell Gardens is closed between Secaurin Avenue and 14 Ringwell Gardens from 8am Tuesday 12 November to 5pm Monday 25 November for connection works by Scottish Power.

Sandford Road is closed between A71 Strathaven Road and School Road from Monday 13 January to Friday 17 January 2025 for carriageway patching. Diversion via A71 Strathaven Road, A71 Stonehouse Road, B7086 Lesmahagow Road, Stonehouse Road, Sandford.

Lockhart Street is closed at the junction with Lockhart Place from 9.30am to 9pm on Sunday 19 January 2025 for Scottish Water manhole repairs. Diversion via Lockhart Street, Stonehouse By pass, Strathaven Road, Townhead Street, King Street, and New Street.

Strathaven

Waterhead Peelhill Highway is closed between C133 and Ryeland Bridge from 8am 20 November to 7pm Sunday 24 November for emergency Scottish Water repairs. Diversion via C133, B745, A71, Waterhead Peelhill Highway and vice versa.

North Street is closed between 5 and 47 North Street from Monday 25 November to Saturday 7 December for Scottish Water maintenance works.

Green Street is closed between Barn Street and Common Green from Monday 25 November to Saturday 7 December for Scottish Water maintenance works. Diversion via A723 to Hamilton, A72 to Cornsilloch Brae, A71 to Strathaven and vice versa.

C138 is closed between High Bents Road and Lethame Road from 8am on Monday 25 November to 8pm on Friday 29 November for BT pole installation. Diversion via C138, Lethame Road, A723, A71, Ardochrig Road, C138 and vice versa.

Common Green, Wellbrae, Main Street, Strait Close and Bridge Street (between Waterside Street and Common Green) will be closed from 8am to 6pm on Sunday 8 December for the Strathaven Reindeer Day. Diversion via A723 Townhead Street, A71 Kirk Street, A71 Stonehouse Road and vice versa.

A723 Commercial Road is closed between Loudoun Street and 39 Commercial Road from 9am to 9pm on Monday 12 January for Scottish Water repairs. Diversion via via A723 to Hamilton, A72 to Cornsilloch Brae, A71 to Strathaven and vice versa.

Thankerton

C24 and Shieldhill Road are closed between Boat Bridge to Quothquan Law Farm and Shieldhill Road for 200 metres from C24 junction for emergency Scottish Water works to repair a burst main. Diversion via Shieldhill Road, Cormiston Road, C24, A72, A702, B7055, A73, Sherifflats Road, Boat Road, Covington Road, C24 and vice versa.

Uddingston

Gardenside Street is closed between Main Street and Station Road from Monday 25 November to Friday 29 November for BT maintenance works. Diversion via Main Street, Station Road, and vice versa.

B756 Bellshill Road is closed between Old Mill Road and Main Street from 10am to 4pm on Sunday 1 December for the Grow Uddingston Christmas Fayre. Diversion via B756 Bellshill Road, Wilkie Road, Hornal Road, Bothwell Road.

Sheepburn Road is closed between Clydeford Drive and Clydeneuk Drive from 8am Monday 2 December to 5pm on Friday 13 December for SPEN essential maintenance works. Diversion via Clydeford Drive, Kylepark Drive, Clydeneuk Drive and vice versa.
