Golden weddings

Every year the Provosts of North and South Lanarkshire Council hold a special celebration for every couple in Lanarkshire who are celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversary.

Hosted alternately by each council, the reception is open to any couple residing in Lanarkshire who has been married for 50 years in that calendar year.

A few months prior to the event, which is usually held in the late summer or autumn, the event is advertised in the local press and couples can apply for an invitation, enclosing their marriage certificate by way of proof of their eligibility.

Unfortunately, due to the popularity of this event, invitations are limited to couples only - other family members cannot be included unless there is a requirement for their assistance. If this is the case, please make this clear when applying.
