Supervised attendance orders
Supervised attendance orders are an alternative to prison when offenders fail to pay fines.
The length of the order can vary between 10 and 100 hours. An offender can chose to do some or all of these hours as unpaid work for the benefit of the community but can also take part in educational or therapeutic activities that could improve their circumstances or the underlying reasons for their offending.
This disposal is only available for offences committed before 1 February 2011. For those offences committed after this date, a Community Payback Order is now available.
