Commenting on a planning application
Comments are made public
Any documents we get about an application are made available to the public on the Planning Portal within five days of receiving them. Committee reports on planning applications are available three days before the application goes to committee (excluding Saturdays and Sundays).
Please note that any comments which you make, including your name and address, require to be made publicly available, including on the Council’s website and Planning Portal.
Sensitive personal information such as personal email addresses and telephone numbers will be removed before being made publicly available. We will also remove any comments which we consider to be defamatory or offensive and they will not be taken into consideration when determining the application. They are also available for four years after that. Examples of documents include the plans and the submitted planning application, as well as any representations. Representations are the comments either objecting to or supporting the application.
Any representations we get about an application are also published on our planning portal. You can ask us not to publish comments but they cannot then be considered.
