Religious or belief marriages
If you are making plans to get married both parties will need to complete and lodge marriage notice forms.
What happens next?
Your documents and the marriage schedule (the document you will sign during the ceremony) will then be prepared. The schedule needs to be collected in person by one of the parties to the marriage from the Registrar no more than seven days before the date of the marriage.
The marriage schedule must be returned to the Registration office within three days of the marriage so that the marriage can be registered. If you cannot take the marriage schedule back personally, you can ask someone else to take it for you or you can post it so that it is received by the registrar within that three day timescale.
How much does it cost?
The statutory fee is £45 for each marriage notice form and £10 for the marriage certificate. A total of £100.
