Tree preservation order No. SL 58 (2021) areas between Cityford Drive and Kingsbridge Drive, Rutherglen

Notice is hereby given that South Lanarkshire Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by the above-mentioned Act, on 23 August 2021 confirmed the above Tree Preservation Order without modification.

The reasons for the confirmation were:

1. To preserve the character, amenity and sense of place within the local area.

2. To protect the trees on the sites and to ensure that only appropriate maintenance is undertaken in consultation with the council.

In terms of Paragraph 9 of Part 3 of Schedule 6 to the Coronavirus (Scotland) Act 2020, South Lanarkshire Council is of the view that giving notice of where a copy of the Order and its attached Map may be inspected free of charge, or making it available for inspection in a particular manner, may give rise to a significant risk of the transmission of coronavirus, or is likely to be ineffective or inappropriate due to action taken in order to control the incidence or transmission of coronavirus, and the Order and Map are, therefore, being made available at www.southlanarkshire.gov.uk/tree-preservation-orders
