Lunches and snacks at early learning establishments
Nursery brunches, lunches and afternoon snacks are provided by the catering service for council nurseries in South Lanarkshire.
This is currently on a roll out programme for local authority establishments offering 1140 hours of early learning and childcare to 3 and 4 year olds and eligible 2 years old. Please check with your provider to find out if these meals are available in your child's nursery.
The lunches and snacks provided are based on nutritional requirements in the NHS Setting the table guidance publication.
From August 2021, all children attending a local authority nursery over the lunchtime period will be provided a free lunch. If your child attends long mornings or afternoons of over 4 hours and 30 minutes your child will be provided with a brunch or afternoon tea. If your child attends a funded provider details of food will be available from them direct.
From Monday 26 August 2024, we will be serving the new 2024-2025 nursery menu. See allergen information.
* Please note: We are adapting menus regularly as a result of shortages in delivery. As much as we try to keep the same selection available to pupils, it will become more difficult over the coming months, while meeting the food and drink regulations that govern the service.
