Translation and Interpretation Services
If you know anyone who is having problems understanding our services because English isn't their first language, we can help.
Whether it's a relative, colleague, or neighbour we can give them information in a way that is clear and easy for them to understand.
We can translate written items, such as our leaflets, forms, and documents into their mother tongue or a language they are comfortable with - this includes several formats for the visually impaired.
We can also talk to them using an interpreter - this includes various services for the hearing impaired.
Translating text and booking an interpreter can take time, so if you know you will need this service, please tell us as soon as possible so that we can make arrangements.
We use Recite Me to help people use our website to do the things they need to do. This includes finding information about how to access our services, for example, apply for benefits or book a special waste uplift or make payments.
Recite Me can be used to:
- Have the text on our website read aloud (including most downloads)
- Download the text as an MP3 file to play it where and when it suits you
- Change font sizes and colours
- Customise background colour
- Translate text into more than 100 different languages
If you are using Recite Me for the first time, you can find out more about how it works from the Recite Me user guide.
