Enterprise and Sustainable Development Services
The service is about creating the economic environment to stimulate business formation and growth and creating economic opportunity and wealth in our communities, urban and rural, whilst working towards ‘Net Zero.’
It includes regeneration and projects to lever investment and support sustainable business and generate employment.
This includes:
- Business support
- Key sector support, incl construction, food and drink, tourism and social enterprise
- Supplier Development Programme
- Inward Investment
- Town centre and place based infrastructure investment
- Rural regeneration
- Management of community benefit funds
- External funding
- Programme management of UKSPF and other economic development programmes
The service is also responsible for:
- Coordinating and reporting on sustainable development and food activity across the council
- Management support on all major South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture building projects
- Support to the Resource, including administration, stores and purchasing, records management, system development, and Best Value and performance management
- Community and Enterprise Resources
- Facilities, Waste and Grounds Service
- Planning and Regulatory Services
- Roads, Transportation and Fleet Services
