Town twinning

South Lanarkshire's towns have twinning links with towns in France, Germany and Denmark.

Twinning is a formal relationship between two or more towns.

By twinning with another town we are making a conscious effort to understand, learn and experience one another's cultures and, by doing so, contributing to peace and goodwill around the globe.

Twinning with another town or city not only encourages cultural exchange but can generate tourism and produce strong business links.
