Community asset transfer

Ref CAT/25/0008

An asset transfer request has been made to us under Part 5 of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015. The request has been made by Smile Children’s Charity.

The request is a 30 year lease of the former Canderavon Care Home, Queen Street, Stonehouse, ML9 3EE.

The proposed use of the land is use as a respite centre for children and a community hub.

Anyone may make representations about this request to South Lanarkshire Council. Representations must be in writing and include the name and address of the person making it. A copy of the representation will be given to the organisation making the request.

Representations must be made by Friday 31 October 2025. They should be made via the planning system, or sent to Iain Mulholland, Community Engagement Team, Finance and Corporate Resources, Council HQ, Almada Street, Hamilton, ML3 0AA or by email to CommunityAssets@southlanarkshire.gov.uk.
