Keep children safe from blind cords
ROSPA advice
RoSPA advises
- people buying new blinds to look for a design that doesn't have cords or chains, particularly for a child's bedroom
- not to put a child's cot, bed, playpen or highchair near a window
- that cords are kept tied up and out of the reach of young children using a cleat, cord tidy, clip or tie.
Please remember that accidents don't just happen in the children's own home and can happen in those of family and friends. Pass on our advice to them as they may not have had to consider the dangers that blind cords can pose. You can also watch a film we made on our YouTube page.
Full details about the dangers of looped blind cords and other safety advice can be found at the RoSPA website.
