Recycling at flats in East Kilbride

If you live in a flat in East Kilbride, you can recycle more from home.

We are pleased to include your area in this new project to help you recycle more.

Blue bins will now be used to recycle clean paper, card and cardboard.

If you would like to recycle glass, cans and plastics at home you can order a 240L light grey bin if you have a suitable place to store it. Light grey bins are also collected every 4 weeks.

What goes into the blue and grey recycling bins?

Please recycle clean paper, card and cardboard in the blue bin.

Glass, cans and plastics can be recycled in the grey bin.

These containers should not be used for general waste.

When will the new recycling bins be collected?

After your last collection week commencing Monday 20 January, please begin to use your blue bin to recycle clean paper, card and cardboard only. Bins will be stickered to remind you of this change. You can find information about what can now be recycled in your blue bin by referring to the leaflet delivered to your home address or by checking what goes in your blue bin.

The first collection of the blue bin for paper, card and cardboard only will be on your normal collection day week beginning Monday 17 February 2025.

You can download a copy of the bin collection calendar.
