Best Start Grant and Best Start Foods

The Best Start Grant is three cash payments that you can apply for if you're a parent or a carer.

The grant includes 3 one-off cash payments:

• Pregnancy and Baby Payment
• Early Learning Payment
• School Age Payment

Best Start Foods is a prepaid card that you can use to buy healthy food for children under three. This is a new payment that will replace the Government's Healthy Start Vouchers.

You can apply for Best Start Grant and Best Start Foods if:

• you live in Scotland
• you're on certain benefits
• you're pregnant or are a parent/main carer for a child
