About us | St Anthony’s Parent Partnership works with St Anthony’s School to create a welcoming community for all parents and carers. The parent council supports children in the school who live in parts of three main community areas: Springhall, Burnside, and Cathkin. |
Our Wish | Our number one priority for tech would be to replace an existing EBeam for a CTouch (roughly £3200 each) - an interactive whiteboard which can be connected to the internet. The St Anthony's Parent Partnership wants to make it easier for working parents and carers to be empowered to join in parent council meetings, school and community events like the Christmas pageant and other Parent Council-supported events at the School, and we need to work within the Council's IT requirements to do so. The School has existing EBeams in classrooms, which are now obsolete and we are unable to replace missing parts/broken devices. In addition, the fixed projectors used to display the screen have very poor lighting and are poorly fixed against the walls directly opposite bright windows - whereas CTouches are moveable. Having the larger interactive CTouch screen available and on display at the Parent Partnership's 'hybrid' meetings would help everyone - Parent Council Members, The Parent Forum, and others in the local community in Springhall, Burnside, and Cathkin - feel much more connected, and help put technology to work for us. Parents and carers who are working, for example, could also attend virtually. The primary use would be for Parent Partnership purposes and therefore needs to work within the parameters of IT requirements within the School that are out of our direct control, but we would work closely with the School to ensure the CTouch can - when it's not being used by us - additionally support high quality learning and teaching as a tool which can create exciting and creative lessons, in addition to allowing children active participation in teaching sessions. We would be delighted with a CTouch being donated - or donations towards purchasing a CTouch would be most gratefully received. |
