About usLDVG ‘s aim is to reduce physical and social isolation and increase health and wellbeing for adults in Lanarkshire, by providing a range of inclusive and accessible services and activities. We currently have approximately 360 members and 96 volunteers. Services and activities: • Mon-Frid call-line, 6 lunch clubs, Free Handyperson Service, • Activity Groups: IT; genealogy; walking group; gardening group; Thursday night social group, craft group, armed forces community group, sporting memories, and strength and balance exercise classes. • Community transport: 5 minibuses (2 electric, 2 low emissions, 1 diesel) covering lunch club transport, activity group transport, shopping services, outings and trips for our members and community groups. • Volunteer Community Car: facilitating attendance at non-emergency NHS appointments using our electric pool car. • Community Fridge/Café: targeting food waste and sharing excess produce with the community. We work closely with partners to maximize the impact of our resources and keep us abreast of the changing needs of the community and encourage collaborative solutions.
Our WishAs our lunch clubs and community cafe are extremely busy, we are incurring more breakages with our crockery. We are also working towards being a Dementia Friendly building which means all crockery must be coloured (not white or clear). We can accommodate a maximum of 35-40 people per sitting. We are looking for: • plates, • side plates, • bowls • mugs with large handles • teaspoons • medium sized milk jugs
