| About us | Lanarkshire Rape Crisis Centre supports individuals in the Clydesdale Area, Rutherglen/Cambuslang Area, East Kilbride/Strathaven and Blantyre/Hamilton of South Lanarkshire. Established 20 years ago, the Lanarkshire Rape and Crisis Centre provides practical and emotional support to survivors of sexual violence from age 12 and older. We have different teams which support a range of services. Our support team provides one-to-one support therapy. The advocacy team supports the criminal justice process by the means of emotional assistance for an average of three years. Lastly our prevention team delivers specialist training in schools and colleges on topics such as consent and gender stereotypes. The centre has noticed an increase in demand and more support over and above our basic services. Therefore, we now provide the essentials for every service user within our wellbeing bags. These bags consist of shampoo, soap, toothbrushes and other essential body care products. |
| Our Wish | We strive to provide wellbeing bags to all new service users who enter our centre every year. Currently we average 500 new referrals into our centre and this number grows year on year. For many who we support the basic essentials are financially unobtainable so we work hard to secure generous donations of goods that we can then provide for free. These include but are not limited to: Shampoo, conditioner, soap, face wash Make up removal wipes, micellular water, cotton pads, hair accessories, face masks, make up, nail polish, lip balm, deodorant. The gift bags themselves and tissue paper are also very helpful. We cannot accept mouth wash containing alcohol, any form of razor and no items containing CBD oil. |
