| About us | The Machan Trust is a long-standing charity supporting children, young people, and families in Larkhall and the surrounding areas. Targeting areas that suffer from high levels of deprivation through multi-generational unemployment, and associated high levels of free school meals, poor educational attainment, relatively poor health, and wellbeing. The Machan Trust currently works with around 750 people a week, with over 1300 weekly interactions, over 40 weekly groups and 4 breakfast clubs that run 5 days a week. The Machan Trust provides vital early intervention and employability activities, open to all but targeting the most deprived 5% - 20% of the community, hence the focus on Hareleeshill, Strutherhill, Stonehouse and Netherburn. With an inclusive ethos. All activities are offered free of charge, providing a lifeline to many.

| Our Wish | £5,000 would help us to continue to provide a children's group and a youth group in Larkhall. We have partially funded 2 groups - Vibe and Min-Vibe and require to find further funding. These groups cater for over 70 children each week. The groups provide food, free tuck shop, and a range of activities. These groups work to raise aspirations, develop social skills, and teach new skills, building strong relationships and resilience for any challenges faced. Activities are free and provide a warm space, food, and are open to all between primary 2 and secondary 6.
