| About us | parkrun is a free, weekly, community event where participants can walk, jog or run 5k or can volunteer or spectate. parkrun takes place every Saturday morning starting at 9:30am in Scottish locations. parkrun is positive, welcoming and inclusive, there is no time limit and no one finishes last. We are a small core team working closely with the North / South Lanarkshire parkrun ambassador to start a new parkrun at Cuningar Loop, Rutherglen. We have the support of both landowners of Cuningar Loop and from parkrun Head Office. A core team of volunteers is also in place which is essential to start a new parkrun. |
| Our Wish | To launch this parkrun, we are required to secure funding to pay for the start up cost. The total fundraising requirement is £4,800. This is a one off start-up cost and covers all the essential equipment needed to start and sustain the parkrun, including a defibrillator to ensure the safety of all participants, barcode scanning, signs, volunteer vests, finish tokens and the infrastructure needed to set up and direct a safe event along the course and at the start and finish. Once the start-up cost is paid, the parkrun will be self-sustaining, organised and maintained by volunteers and will not require any future financial support. |
