About us | The Coalburn Brass Band Family is based in our own rehearsal facility in Coalburn, South Lanarkshire. There are three brass bands in our organisation. Coalburn Bronze Band, our youth band, Coalburn Intermediate Band, our 4th section band, Coalburn Silver Band, our 1st section band. We also have our Coalburn Percussion Academy, where our tutor provides lessons on the full range of percussion instruments. All of our ensembles are members of the Scottish Brass Band Association. Our organisation has a varied diary throughout the year with various concert engagements, community events and a contesting programme. We currently have 85 members and employ 2 conductors and 3 tutors to lead our rehearsals and percussion academy. We have a committee of 11 trustees which run our organisation on a voluntary basis. The objectives of the bands (that is, Coalburn Silver Band, Coalburn Intermediate Band and Coalburn Bronze Band) and the Coalburn Percussion Academy shall be to advance the education of the band members and the public of South Lanarkshire and the surrounding areas in the art of music and in particular brass band music by the presentation of public performances and other related activities.

Our Wish | We were very fortunate to have been donated a long wheel based transit van that required a lot of work to become road worthy again. It is a 2012 Mercedes Sprinter 313 CDI. We are fortunate to have a volunteer in the organisation that has completed a lot of the work and the van is almost ready to be MOT'd. We would be very grateful if a garage could service and MOT van so that we can use it for transporting our equipment to engagements. In addition, the details of the company who donated the van are still on the bodywork. If this wrapping could be removed and any rust treatment this would also be gratefully appreciated and ensure that we can use the van for many years in the future.
