About usWe are a small group of volunteers, working very hard within our community to provide activities, getting people out and about with fun for all,in our lovely park. We run FREE events throughout the year starting with Easter we have an egg hunt and egg decoration competition not forgetting Easter bonnet too where each child is given an Easter egg, in June we have a fantastic water slide running in the park, with over 1200 plastic ducks each numbered with winners receiving cash prizes. Halloween is our a Scary walk through the park into the woods very scary we have scares and props to chill even the bravest, then at Christmas we have elf day, elves naughty and good are hidden throughout the park and woods and the children have to find them we also have Santa in his grotto giving every single child a selection box. That not just it, on Christmas Eve Santa and all of his helpers on his sledge go through all the village waving and giving cheers to all the villagers the children just love to see him a fantastic night. Not bad for a few volunteers . I haven’t mentioned our bandstand after many, many, years we at FOSP together with SLC and a lot of help from various cash sources have at last got it back to its formal glory, with that, we now hold many events there too, bandstand beats, where local bands and singers play for us, all free, story time, book club teddy bear picnics also our Stonehouse pipe band enjoy rehearsal there a great nights for sure. We have been running now for ten years and have achieved so much and we continue to grow with even more plans, this year we will be remodelling the derelict pavilion into a hub for the park and hopefully getting the water fountain back to its glory days, all in time for our centenary in 2025. We provide events for all our community old young and disabled to make use of this wonderful park for their wellbeing and mental health, ask anyone in this village about us and I’m sure you will receive nothing but praise.
Our WishWe are looking for a donation of a large container, shelving and some storage boxes to store essential items that we use within our project and for our events, including props.
